The summer movie season has officially kicked off with the remake of the 1981 classic, Clash of the Titans. I was a big fan of the original movie — a tale involving Greek Gods, a sacrificial virgin, a flying horse and a mechanical owl — so I had high hopes for this remake. Plus, after seeing the trailer, I knew I really wanted to see them "release the Kraken." The question is: Can the long, effects-heavy journey to the Kraken really worth it? The answer is a big Oh Hell Yeah!

Clash of the Titans stars Sam Worthington — the new "Mr. Franchise" himself — as Perseus, the demigod son of Zeus. Perseus wants nothing to do with the gang on Mt. Olympus, but is ultimately forced into a battle to save mankind from the wrath of the Gods. Perseus is tasked with killing the Kraken, a brutal monster that will wipe out mankind within 10 days of its release. Along his journey, Perseus is accompanied by soldiers, a beautiful woman and weird creatures, and must battle giant scorpions, creepy witches, Medusa, and finally, the Kraken itself to save humanity.
