Let's get one thing out of the way up front: I am a huge nerd for any project involving Simon Pegg. (Scotty can beam me up anytime he wants, okay?) In fact, as the article linked here shows, I've been looking forward to seeing Paul since I started freelancing out of the computer lab at my college library back in 2007.
So if you, like me, consider Shaun of the Dead a singularly amazing piece of cinema, you probably ordered your tickets for the latest film starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost well in advance, even though you knew their usual director and co-writer, Edgar Wright (of Shaun, Hot Fuzz and Spaced), wasn't attached to this latest venture.
Did the acting duo pull it off without Wright's participation? Well, yes and no.
