I'm a sucker for superhero movies. You know the story: An average Joe overcomes a major trauma (parent's murdered, radioactive spider bite, etc.) and ends up clad in spandex, risking life and limb to save the world. The Green Hornet is not exactly that kind of movie but you probably figured that out when you saw Seth Rogen in the trailer. After months of bad buzz, I was left wondering how a movie based on an old radio show, directed by the guy that made Be Kind, Rewind and released (in suddenly played-out 3-D) during the Hollywood dumping ground of January could be any good?
Let's just say it's different.
