Lowry Park Zoo has announced a contest to choose the name for the female pygmy hippo born at the zoo on Nov. 15. So far they have three African names starting with the letter Z in honor of mother hippo, Zsa Zsa — Zawadi, which means "gift"; Zola, which means "to love"; and Zuri, which means "beautiful."

The name that receives the most votes through Dec. 3 will be declared the winner. And of the entries for the winning name, two voters will be selected at random to win a family four-pack of zoo tickets. You can vote online at www.lowryparkzoo.com/hippo. We at CL have taken a stab at it, taking some liberties by venturing below the letter Z to offer up some other options. What name would you choose if you could name that little artiodactyl?
