The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance's Muse 2015 — an upcoming gala for the arts that debuted last year and returns on Fri., Jan. 30, to the Museum of Fine Arts with another eclectic assortment of premier St. Petersburg-area food, drinks and entertainment to benefit local artists and arts organizations — has issued a call for nominees for new local muses of the year.
The organization has asked the community to name individuals who "inspire and guide our city to its standing as an arts destination" to receive a 2015 Muse Award.
Last year at the first Muse celebration, guests were treated to a unique soiree with splashy interactive digital art by HD Interactive, pop-up performances, fashion and artful dinner courses. The event honored Studio@620 co-founder and producing director Bob Devin Jones and actress/performer Becca McCoy.
Contenders for the coming year include visual artist Carrie Jadus, who designed the event poster (partially shown above), writing guru Roy Peter Clark, sculptor Charlie Parker and dancer Lauren Smalley.
Organizers at the Arts Association of St. Petersburg request that all interested to nominate St. Petersburg performing or visual artists "whose hands express their art" by clicking here.
