Leave the Raid at home and gain a new appreciation of creepy crawlies at the Museum of Science and Industry on Sat., Feb. 19.

That’s when MOSI premieres its new, all-ages-friendly Bugging Out series.

First, amble through Harry’s Big Adventure: My Bug World, an exhibit that features immersive virtual habitats and live activities that allow attendees to get up close and personal with insects from all over the world — from ladybugs to tarantulas.

Then, peruse the artwork of Jennifer Angus, a Canadian artist known for large-scale installations with arresting patterns of petrified bugs (Pictured right is her "Insecta Fantasia" work).

Also, the IMAX film, Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure makes you the fly the on the wall.

Further testing your gross-out threshold, special events throughout opening weekend include a live insect petting zoo, cricket-spitting competitions, roach races and a chef preparing treats with bugs as the main ingredients.

Food and Drink Editor Katie Machol took some pics of the cookies (left) that will be served at the museum Saturday. Yum?

Continues through May 31; 4801 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa. mosi.org.
