Welcome to On the Radar, where we preview upcoming events to mark your calendars for. Let’s be honest: It’s been quite a while since Louie Anderson has been on the pop culture radar. After bursting onto the national scene in the mid-’80s, the portly comedian from Minnesota sustained his popularity with appearances on the late-night talk-show circuit, the cartoon Life With Louie, and as host for a few years of game show Family Feud.

So what’s he been up to lately? Well, as with so many other “where are they now” celebrities, Anderson has been calling Las Vegas home with a regular gig at the Excalibur Hotel. Now, Anderson leaves one gambling den for another as he brings his trademark nasally delivery and family-based comedy to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for two shows at Floyd’s nightclub next week. 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., Mon., May 10, 5223 N. Orient Rd., Tampa, $30, seminolehardrock.com.
