Welcome to on the radar, where we preview events to mark on your calendar.

Imagine RuPaul and Lady Gaga playing dress up at a slumber party and you still won’t come anywhere near the out-there fabulousness of Dunedin Fine Art Center's Wearable Art Show. In its sixth season, the pret-a-partay cleverly pushes the limits of form and function, often with sleek style and symmetry – and whatever offbeat accouterments come with the package. Accessories in past shows have included seemingly random, non-clothing-related items as strange as dried beans, lampshades and balloons – so captivating, you might be tempted to wear one to your next office shindig. This year, the pretty models slip on pieces by Kim and Rick Brinklow, Patti Coleman, Marsha Goins, Candy Barnette and Deborah Kynes, Joseph Mastropaolo and Vicki Rich, Donna Mason Sweigart, Sheree Lorraine, Ivana Ska, Frank Strunk III and Rogerio Martins. Americana band Have Gun, Will Travel, Bradenton’s critically-gushed-upon but relatively dressed-down rockers, perform the after party. 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14; Dunedin Fine Art Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd., Dunedin; runway show starts at 9 p.m. After-party to follow. $15 general admission; reserved seating $50, $75. www.dfac.org, call 727-298-3322. kaya@dfac.org
