Welcome to On the Radar, where we preview upcoming events to mark your calendar for. This weekend marks the 40th anniversary of the renowned outdoor Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, which remains in a class of its own: 300 fine artists and craftspeople from all over the world display their work for the hungry eyes of more than 250,000 devoted art lovers.
And this year the festival has something new to celebrate: a return to its previous site (1995-2003), the newly named and designed Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
