The University of Tampa hosts the annual Picnic in the Park with its Victorian-themed events to honor the hotel in its heyday, featuring a barber shop quartet, models dressed to the hilt in Gilded Age garb, games like horseshoes and tiddlywinks, a river boat ride, and free ice cream, to name just a few of the myriad diversions.
