This Saturday, Tampa's Straz Center will throw open its doors for an open house/party. Guests can get a taste of what the performing art center's all about, with free performances from Cutty Jones & Jay Slay, Opera Tampa singers, Patel Conservatory students and others. The Straz will also offer backstage tours, salsa dance demonstrations and String Theory's Fin Harp. In addition, The Urban Conga will have its interactive musical bench, Why Sit When You Can Play? and the National Sculpture Society will present its Performance in Sculpture exhibit. Guests will have the chance to see Tagging Tampa, a street artist collective curated by Eric Hornsby (the Straz resident artist).

Throughout the day, the Straz will also have food and drink specials and plenty for kids, too, from face-painting and art to info sessions at the Patel Conservatory's Open Door Day.

Of course, the Straz is all about live theater, so if you're on site you can take advantage of their one-day ticket deals for the upcoming season. They're not saying which shows will have deals, but the deals will cover their Broadway series, Club Jaeb, the Cabaret series and Jobsite Theater.

Does that mean you could get a deal on Hamilton or Dear Evan Hansen? How about Jobsite's upcoming Edgar & Emily? No one at the Straz is talking, but they're not telling us no, either.
