Just got the sad, sad news that one of the warmest, funniest men on the planet is gone. According to a post in the NY Times, Tampa Bay's renowned puzzlemeister Merl Reagle died Saturday at the age of 65. He was a longtime favorite of Weekly Planet/Creative Loafing readers and staffers, his crossword the first thing many turned to each week. In person, his inventive, non-stop wit was just as irresistible. We do not know details of his death or memorial plans at the moment, but will keep you posted. All we know now is that we will miss him — a lot.
