Paws for a Cause took place Saturday at Curtis Hixon Park in Downtown Tampa. The charity event featured vendors, demonstrations by K-9 units from Tampa Police and Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office , as well as Frisbee demonstrations. There were also pet contests including Best Costume, Pet/Owner Look Alike, and cutest and ugliest dog. Proceeds from the event went to Hillsborough House of Hope, providing a temporary residence for women who have been incarcerated, and to Kids and Canines, which helps at-risk truant middle school teens.
