After hosting a successful Pride festival in Pinellas Park last month, Latin Pop artist John Gascot looks to bring Pride to Pinellas Park year-round.

“Pride @ the Village was a great success and we’re all so proud and already looking forward to the next one, but for some of us Pride is a year-round state of mind,” Gascot wrote in a press release.

That’s why Gascot and fellow artist Gianna Pergamo are starting a new LGBTQ meetup in Pinellas Arts Village called “LGBTQ Social @ the Village.” The quarterly social gathering, sponsored by Gascot’s noprofit Diversity Arts, features live entertainment, arts and crafts activities, and complimentary snacks and drinks.

LGBTQ Social @ the Village launches this Saturday with a fun design-your-own-tee activity. Bring a solid-color cotton T-shirt and Pergamo will show you how to decorate it using handmade stencils.

“I have been excited to try this method of clothing decoration,” Pergamo wrote on social media. “We are going to make a stencil from wax paper and then spray on fabric paint or bleach.”

Sounds fun to me.
