Pleasure Art Exhibit

June 24, 6 p.m. The Hollander Hotel, 421 4th Ave. N., St. Pete. 727-873-7900. hollanderhotel.com.

Kick off Pride weekend by enjoying a one-night art exhibit and poolside sunset at St. Pete’s Hollander Hotel. The local boutique hotel with its ever-popular Tap Room (a brunch-and-happy-hour hotspot) will unveil the Pleasure Art Exhibit, featuring some of the city’s top local talent. Artists on display include some of the ‘Burg’s usual art suspects (and, not coincidentally, some of the most talented ones): Sebastian Coolidge, Chad Mize, Jennifer Kosharek, Derek Donnelly, Juliana Villamil, Frank Strunk III, Saori, James Oleson… to name but a few. The show officially starts at 6 p.m. but the Tap Room kicks off happy hour at 4, so no one here would blame you if you wanted to go early to get a good seat (and capitalize on their bartenders collective skills) and sneak a peek at the art. If, after a few Bombay Sapphire martinis, you decide you want your face painted, artist Jacklyn Boles will oblige.
