For their fifth season, ProjectFREE is producing a pretty ambitious musical — one with 22 actors, and every one of those actors has a disability. That doesn't stop them from being a part of the classic musical Guys + Dolls. ProjectFREE is a Gulfport-based organization that's part performing arts, part rock band academy and part art gallery — all tailored to meet the needs of adults with different abilities. For Guys + Dolls, Venue Theater's Corrine Broskette will lead the charge (she also directs ProjectFREE's theater component).
ProjectFREE, which recently left its visible spot in Gulfport's downtown, is working on opening a new space in Gulfport's industrial district. Where's that? In the next creative spot, already home to the Blueberry Patch and Frank Strunk III's studios. We'll tell you more as we know it.
