In case you missed it, local food banks need your donations. Cranksgiving is a good chance to help out with that while getting up off your ass before Turkey Day next week. The bike scavenger hunt and food drive collected 1,672 pounds of food, including 56 frozen turkeys, in 2018 and then donated it all to Metropolitan Ministries.

This year should be no different, but it can’t happen without individual and team riders who’ll scamper across town buying food as part of the ride, which is free to participate in. It all starts at Coppertail Brewing on Saturday morning, and additional details are available online. A side raffle benefits the Apple a Day Foundation, which keeps kids socially connected to friends & family during treatment and long hospital stays.

Cranksgiving. Saturday, Nov. 16. Coppertail Brewing Co., 2601 E. 2nd Ave., Tampa. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. cranksgivingtampa.com.
