This afternoon, travel website TripAdvisor announced its 2023 Best of the Best “Things to Do” list, which covers the top experiences in the U.S. and the world, and seven tours in the Tampa Bay area made the cut.

The awards are based on 12-months of TripAdvisor reviews from May 1, 2022-April 30, 2023, and include experiences from bookable tours and top attractions, ranked in various categories.

Swimming with manatees at Crystal River ranked highest out of all Tampa Bay winners, finding its home with Hawaii’s beaches and Salem’s haunting mystery tours at No. 8 for “Top Experiences” in the United States.

They also ranked No. 2 in “Snorkeling & Water Sports” in the U.S., ranking No. 4 overall in the world for this category; and No. 8 for “Bucket List Experience” in the world.

Taking a clear kayak tour of Shell Key Preserve and the Tampa Bay Area in Tierra Verde clocked in at No. 14 “Top Experience” in the U.S.; No. 4 “Nature and Outdoor Activity” in the U.S., and No. 7 in the same category in the world ranking.

Sarasota’s guided mangrove tunnel kayak tour ranked No. 5 in “Snorkeling & Water Sports” in the U.S. and No. 12 in the same category in the world.

St. Petersburg Jungle Prada Site History Tour came in at No. 11 “Cultural & Historical Tour” in the U.S. Parasail Flight at Madeira Beach ranked No. 12 “Snorkeling & Water Sports” in the U.S.. Dolphin Shelling Snorkeling Cruise in Tampa ranked No. 21 “Snorkeling & Water Sports” in the U.S..

And finally, Busch Gardens Tampa ranked at No. 15 “Amusement & Water Park” in the U.S.

Tampa Bay’s local attractions have been getting a lot of praise recently. Caladesi Island in Dunedin ranked No. 4 overall according to Dr. Beach’s annual Top Ten Beaches list just last month.
