Jobsite Theater’s newest play “Shockheaded Peter'' just extended its run, but it hasn’t even started yet. Blame it on the level of quality of theater that Artistic Director David Jenkins and the rest of the crew have come to produce.

Opening June 9, “Shockheaded Peter'' is a phantasmagorical ‘junk opera’ musical staging of Heinrich Hoffman’s dark, mildly-terrifying 19th-century German children’s book ‘Struwwelpeter.’”

Besides the regular ol’ acting, there’s aerial silk performers, an onstage band, and, most importantly, puppets.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, Jobsite has moved up and over from the usual home base of the 99-seat Shimberg Playhouse into the bigger Jaeb Theater—still at the Straz Center, located on the Tampa Riverwalk at 1010 N Macinnes Pl.

Originally scheduled to run until June 27, the nightmarish production is now set until July 3 with shows also added Wed. June 16 and June 23. Showtime is 4 p.m. on Sundays, 8 p.m. every other day—no performances on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Seating is at four-top tables, but you are still able to buy single tickets for $35.50. Tickets for two people are $79.50 and a whole table is $99.50.
