You've only got a few days to Show Us Your Neighborhood. That's the theme of the Creative Loafing Photo Contest, and the deadline to enter with a chance to win the top $1,000 prize is Tuesday, Mar. 1 at 5 p.m. We've already received close to 300 entries, but who knows? The winner may still be out there, and that photo could be yours.
We invite you to share your personal vision of a Tampa Bay neighborhood. You might focus your camera on people friends, family, neighbors, strangers or you might prefer to show the physical environment: streetcorners, skyscrapers, man-made or natural, urban or rural. Your shot can be posed or candid, closeup or wide-angle, straightforward or abstract, black-and-white or color we've even received a few 3-D entries. In making their decisions, judges will consider compositional and technical excellence; distinctiveness of vision; and relevance to the neighborhood theme.
On March 24, we'll showcase the best submissions in The Photo Issue, an edition of Creative Loafing devoted to telling Tampa Bay's stories through photography. On Mar. 26, we'll announce the winners at our annual multi-disciplinary arts event, Sensory Overload, to be held this year at the Glazer Children's Museum in downtown Tampa. Top finishers will also get a show at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts this fall.
Find an entry form and full details on prizes, judging and contest rules at the CL Photo Contest site. See you in the neighborhoods!
