Art for the sake of art is a commendable philosophy and artists who follow it must value the intrinsic nature of their creations for what they are, apart from anything else.
For photographers, the motive for snapping a shot has to also to do with this and the result is something of its own kind. Whether the message is straightforward or elusive, or whether it has a message at all, does not define or confine the photo.
As part of its 17th Annual Members Show, the Florida Museum of Photographic Art will recognize photographers for their art across a variety of genres: Travel, Forms and Figures, Fashion, Food Design, Tampa Heritage, Science/Technology and Animals. The museum is accepting submissions through Aug. 18, those accepted will be installed in the Community Gallery and winners from each category will be awarded prizes by FMoPA sponsors.
Whatever reason lies behind the creation of art, talent and creativity will be admired.

Submissions must be placed by artists who are members of FMoPA. Those who wish to submit but are not yet members may enlist for a membership at the time of the submission. Only one submission per member accepted; household members may submit twice. Entries cost $35,
