Have you been to new Lucky's in St. Petersburg yet?

They're doing this really cool thing for Tampa Bay Watch, where if you shop there on June 19, they'll donate 10% of what you spend to the local water guardian. The money you spend there between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. goes to Tampa Bay Watch's Bay Grasses in Classes program. BGIC gives high school and middle school students the chance to grow — and keep alive — wetland grasses on their school campuses. Yeah, we know — most of those schools aren't in the middle of wetlands, but here's where it gets pretty nifty: after the students grow the grasses and learn how to monitor salinity levels, ph and health of the grasses, they work alongside scientists to transplant the grasses  to various coastal restoration sites along Tampa Bay. STEM at work, people! Seagrasses provide habitat and help combat beach erosion, and, well, let's be honest: Our beaches need all the help they can get in that regard. Currently, 15 schools participate in the program, and in 2017, the program helped restore six acres of Tampa Bay shoreline.
