A month ago musicians of all ages, styles and with varying ratios of tattoos to piercings left their bah-humbuggery at home to gather at the CL Space to record For the Kids: The Creative Loafing Holiday Mixtape.

If you haven’t heard the digital compilation, the entire album can be downloaded free with an option to make a donation to the Children’s Home — the recipient of funds from our Holiday Auction (around $17K).

A handful of some of the most prominent artists on the CD are reuniting tonight at this month’s installment of the St. Petersburg Shuffle, For the Kids: The Creative Loafing Holiday Mix Tape Show. Local pop/rock godfathers and muy talented Mark Warren and Jonathan Harrison of Vodkanauts will be performing a half-hour set of acoustic holiday tunes with Barely Pink/Ditchflowers comrade Brian Merrill, in addition to the honey-voiced priestess of St. Pete, Rebekah Pulley. Pulley and David Russell, trombonist for Magadog and Creative Loafing's online producer, will perform the classic holiday duet "Baby, It's Cold Outside," which is also on the Mixtape comp.

Plus, Bite Size reunites for the show. Frontman Chris Lunceford is back from Minneapolis. He is featured on the Mixtape CD with his former band, Nailbiters, led by the late great Mike O'Neill.

Geri X is also scheduled to fill the courts with her sonorous pipes and dreamlike rock. Bonus: Her drummer will be playing on pots and pans.

Reps from Creative Loafing, Mitzi Gordon’s Bluebird Book Bus and The Children’s Home will be in attendance.

While you're rocking out, play free shuffleboard. Or, you can have your photo taken in a Photobooth commandeered by one of our favorite paparazzi, Shanna Gillette.

As with the Holiday Auction, all proceeds go to the Children’s Home of Tampa.

7-11 p.m. tonight at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, 559 Mirror Lake Drive N., St. Petersburg. Free admissions; donations strongly encouraged. stpeteshuffle.com.
