One day, our great great great grandkids on some SpaceX ship will ask, “What was Earth like?” Might as well celebrate touching grass while we still can.

These Earth Day celebrations in St. Pete include freebies and activities to remember.

  • Sunken Gardens The 4.1-acre park hosts two all-ages, self-guided scavenger hunts on Saturday, April 19 and Tuesday April 22. Winners get Florida wildflower seeds to celebrate Earth Day year-round. Admission is $6-15.
  • Sans Market and 15th St Farm Two organizations host farm and tasting tours, wood-fired pizza, local kombucha and giveaways at its event on Saturday, April 19. Tickets are $35 until this Sunday, then they go up to $40. No cover for children 12 and under.
  • Sunshine Fresh Market The recurring event is giving away 75 fruit trees courtesy of the city’s sustainability office at its fourth anniversary celebration on Sunday, April 20. There’s no cover, but you can spend some green with local vendors. There will also be an open mic/karaoke, a plant, seed, and clothing swap, and lots of ways to get your hands dirty.
