Parental guilt, the value of human life and clones: a glimpse of just some of the themes you can expect to see in St. Petersburg’s Off-Central Players’ newest play.

The city’s resident theater company will open “A Number” early this November. The play by Caryl Churchill offers a complex look at parental experiences and what it truly means to be father and son.

“A Number” opens Nov. 10 through Nov. 20 at Studio Grand Central, located at 2260 1st Ave. S, St. Pete.

This two-man production follows Off-Central Players’ Ward Smith and Anthony Gervais as the father-son duo. When the father, Salter, finds his son has been cloned by a medical institution, he must wander the country looking for his real son. The story explores our desire to be unique and for our lives to be meaningful.
