Believe it or not, there are still walls without murals in St. Petersburg.

Today, Shine Mural Festival (stylized “SHINE”)and the St. Petersburg Art Alliance’s annual announced plans to place 14 new murals, plus a series of Bright Spots community mural projects debuted throughout downtown St. Pete and surrounding art districts.

Shine Mural Festival happens Oct. 13-22 in St. Petersburg, and there’s no cover to check out the action.

Since its start in 2015, Shine has created over 150 outdoor murals from local, national and international artists with its goal of revitalizing public spaces and sparking dialogue in the cities where the murals are present.

Shine claims to be the first mural festival in the world to use online viewing and audio tours to connect viewers worldwide, and will release its new mural map in October.

There’s still time to get involved with the event, according to a press release. Lunch Bunch Sponsorships are a one time $300 donation that buys lunch for the entire crew of artists working that day. You or your organization can bring the food to the artists to see the work they are creating first hand, or volunteers could bring it out.

Shine is also still looking for volunteers to help with the event in any capacity, including helping bring meals out to the artists while they paint. Additionally, the mural festival is still accepting sponsorships for all levels for its event, as well as offering a two-year commitment plan that benefits year 10 as well.
