The Kage Kult of 98 Rock fame is putting on a Charity Fundraiser for the Families of Thomas Baitinger and Jeff Yaslowitz. The broadcast kicks off at noon today at Gaspar's Grotto in Ybor City and lasts until 7 p.m.
Sgt. Baitinger and Officer Yaslowitz died tragically and honorably in the line of duty Jan. 24 from the wounds they sustained helping to serve a warrant on a man with a long criminal history.
Attendees can participate in live raffles, try their luck at prizes, partake of 98-cent Bud Light drafts and enjoy live music throughout the day with local bands Save the Radio, Mr Bella and others.
Proceeds go to the Heroes of the St. Pete Police foundation, which assists police officers and their families in times of tragedy and crisis, creates a memorial/monument to the 14 St. Petersburg Police Officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and pays for specialty safety equipment outside the normal city budgetary process.
