Some things don’t change much, and skateboard culture is one of them. While the money and sponsorship game has leveled up, skateboarders have always been the ones to do off the wall shit anywhere they could.

Mike Vallely is a legend for it around the Bay area.

Now in his mid-50s, and long known as Mike V, the Bones Brigadier landed a Thrasher cover in 1986 and more or less invented a new strain of street skating alongside homies like Jason Lee. The former Black Flag singer was also a regular at Tarpon Springs’ Astro Skate, where he’ll return on March 21 to hang (no demo though!). On March 22, Vallely comes to Skatepark of Tampa for a session and storytelling.

“Mike will shareing stories and conversation from the golden era of street skating and his early days in professional skateboarding,” SPoT wrote. “Expect good vibes, skateboarding, and some real history from one of the most influential voices in the culture.”

There’s no cover for Concrete Campfire with Mike Vallely happening Sunday, March 22 at Skatepark of Tampa.
