An indoor artwork photograph showing A Cory Robinson window pane painting. Set upright on a polished hardwood floor next to a glass candle vase, a stylized portrait of a hairless cat wearing a bright orange sweater against a vibrant turquoise background is framed within a white wooden window pane. To the right of the painting, the real hairless Sphynx cat that inspired the artwork sits inside a shallow cardboard box wearing a matching knit orange sweater, looking toward the camera in front of an open interior doorway.

Since the summer of 2020, Cory Robinson’s cartoons have had a home in Creative Loafing Tampa Bay.

Marked by fresh, bright colors and usually featuring wide-eyed animals often saying off the wall shit, there’s no denying when the former skateboarder’s hand drawn illustrations, paintings and murals are in front of you.

For this new solo show opening at Corner Club, Robinson focuses on cats and dogs, highlighting the expressive and playful nature of his subjects.

There’s no cover to see ‘It’s Raining Cats & Dogs’ at Corner Club in Tampa on Friday, Oct. 2.
