While a lot of Tampa Bay restaurants are serving up free eats, Stumpy's Hatchet House is offering free rounds of hatchet throwing throughout Veterans Day weekend.
U.S. Navy Veterans Brendan and Tara Wehmann launched Tampa's Stumpy's franchise — located at 13353 W. Hillsborough Ave. — in October, and it's become a go-to spot for date nights and birthday parties. To give back to service members, the Wehmanns are inviting all active duty, reserve, retirees and vets to get in on this offer available from November 9-11.
The indoor recreational facility also serves beer, wine and snacks. Need a little more sustenance to power your hatchet to the bullseye? You can bring your own food, or have it delivered to Stumpy's. The joint occasionally hosts food trucks for their guests who work up an appetite.
Just a heads up, you have to be at least 21 years old to be a card-carrying hatchet thrower at Stumpy's. Hours during Veterans Day weekend are 5 p.m.-midnight Friday, 2 p.m.-midnight Saturday, and 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
