Taking a humorous spin on the classic original, “A Doll’s House, Part 2” features a Tampa Bay star-studded cast directed by Florida native Lucas Hnath. Audiences will revisit the story of Nora, a wife and mother who leaves her family behind in 1879 Norway in search of a nontraditional life. Now, Nora returns to those she abandoned asking for an incredibly awkward favor and a chance at a new beginning.
The show—directed by Stephanie Gularte, former Producing Artistic Director of American Stage in St. Petersburg and of Capital Stage in Sacramento—opens at Stageworks Theatre in Tampa on Friday, Nov. 4 with an opening night pre-show open bar and post-show mix and mingle opportunities. “A Doll’s House, Part 2” will run through Nov. 20, with showings every Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 8 p.m.
Tickets to see “A Doll House, Part 2” at Tampa Repertory Theatre are on sale now and start at $11.
“The power of Hnath’s play is its success in compelling us to recognize how much has not changed over the past 150 years and in revealing new layers of complexity in the dynamics of gender-relations, freedom, intimacy, and marriage,” Gularte wrote in a press release.
