The Glazer Children’s Museum in Tampa, is reopening at 25% on June 6 and its summer camps will begin on June 8.
The museum published a five-page reopening plan, guided by the principles “clean, safe and fun,” which included new restrictions like capacity limits, new hand sanitizer locations, and mandatory staff training.
Here are a few of the precautions that will be in place, according to the museum’s reopening plan.
Guests and staff will be instructed to practice physical distancing by keeping at least six feet away from others who are not in their group.
All exhibits and classrooms will have capacity limits using CDC guidelines and based on the specific size and layout of each space.
Only education programs that encourage physical distancing will be offered.
Staff and guests will be instructed to stay home if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other known symptoms of COVID-19.
Hand sanitizer stations will be placed at the museum’s entrance and throughout the facility with highly visible signage to make them easy to find.
All staff will undergo mandatory Safety and Reopening Training and will sign an acknowledgment upon completing the training.
Difficult to clean exhibits or those exhibits where it is impossible for guests to practice physical distancing will be closed initially.
Admission into the children’s museum, which is located 110 W Gasparilla Plaza, will also now “require a timed reservation,” according to the announcement.
Timed entry tickets will be available for purchase for non-museum members on May 28. Museum members will retain their free admission privileges but must reserve a timed ticket.
This Friday announcement from the museum arrived just after Gov. Ron DeSantis lifted limitations on children’s activities like youth sports and summer camps.
