SISTA STRUT 3K MEMPHIS 2017

SISTA STRUT 3K MEMPHIS 2017

Although breast cancer awareness month isn’t until October, it’s always the right time to raise money and awareness around the debilitating disease. And you can do just that at next month’s Sista Strut 3k on March 21 at downtown Tampa's Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park.

Presented by 95.7 The Beat, the radio station that gives Tampa Bay all of the hip-hop, R&B, and throwbacks it loves, is putting on the walk to raise awareness to the importance of breast cancer screenings in the African American community.

You can sign up to walk solo or get a group of friends to join you in strutting along to the upbeat jams provided by The Beat.

A portion of the proceeds benefit the Tampa chapter of the Sisters Network, an organization dedicated to providing access to breast cancer screenings, diagnostics and treatment services to any woman regardless of her ability to pay. Along with raising awareness of getting screened, the Sista Strut 3k will recognize the strength of survivors and promote the search for a cure.

Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park is at 1001 N. Blvd. in Tampa. Register to walk now via raceroster.com, because the prices to participate increase this Friday—from $15 to $20—if you’re walking by yourself.
