No big deal.
Well, the expansion isn’t set in stone yet.
According to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the Dali has recently submitted an application requesting $17.5 million of Pinellas County bed tax money to add a new parking garage, meditated exhibitions including reality and digital experiences as well as community and education spaces.
The proposed augmented reality will make it seem like the figures within Salvador Dali’s paintings are moving.
The AR will also be incorporated into videos of Dali presenting his ideas to museum goers.
These videos have never been released before, using an algorithm of his likeness.
With these new expansions, the Dali will be able to accommodate over 50 percent more visitors.
So if this project gets the go ahead, we can expect some pretty trippy stuff.
Let’s get weird.
