Manga meets the wrestling ring in Ybor City this weekend when comic book pages and anime come alive for Kaiju Big Battel at Orpheum. If you believe the folklore (and you should, you square), Kaiju rumbles—which feature “maniacal villains, ominous alien beasts, and gigantic, city-crushing monsters who are fighting for control of the globe”—have been happening for millions of years and date back to the Triassic period when the scuffle caused tornadoes, earthquakes, geyser eruptions and even stock market crashes.
