As the anthropomorphic crab in The Little Mermaid once said, “the seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake.” So, for those of you looking for a complete and total career change, the Weeki Wachee Mermaids are holding open auditions this week.

Auditions will be held this Friday, April 19, at 5 p.m. where any interested mermaids/mermen over 18 years old will have to complete an “endurance swim test,” and then perform an underwater audition. Anyone interested in this gig should RSVP for the audition by sending a resume, a head shot and a state employment application to wwmermaids1947@gmail.com.

Potential mer-people should know that audition can take up to two hours, and the pay starts out at $12 an hour.
