The Roving Radical Dance Party hits Seventh Avenue in Ybor City. Even though the dance party was not on the official parade route, police officers did not stop the march from blocking traffic. The crowds along the sidewalks of Ybor seemed to enjoy it.
This ain't your grandmother's flash mob. Participants in the Roving Radical Dance Party gathered in Centennial Park on Monday evening with signs, large puppet heads representing predatory capitalists, and a gold elephant in chains.
Vermin Supreme — a self-proclaimed candidate for president of America — does his rendition of the disco classic "Brick House."
Nathan Pim — who fashioned the predatory capitalists' headpieces for the roving dance party — wears a shark head.
The crowd left Centennial Park and headed down Eighth. They walked down the middle of both Eighth and Seventh avenues, stopping traffic and being escorted by law enforcement. The party was to make its way to Cafe Hey by the end of the night.
