Tonight onTop Chef Just Desserts, the producers have pulled out the one trial we've seen on every incarnation of Top Chef: the one-armed challenge! This go-round, the chefs must create pies with one arm tied behind their backs for the Quickfire. We also get to see liquid nitrogen used yet again in this season: though Carlos has used it about a million times this season, he does seem to know what he's doing with it (thus negating my TC rule of not using it when you have no idea what the hell you're doing).
For the Elimination Challenge, the chef'testants have to create desserts for an upscale, carnival themed event — oxymoron much? Let's just hope that no one has a fear of clowns.
We get to see more of Matthew and Chris' budding bromance, but with only 5 chefs left, they're now starting to see each other as competition and talking a fair bit of smack about one another. Hey, I would pay to see a knock-down, hair-pulling catfight between those two. Though I think the bitchy catfights are more likely to spring up between Orlando and Sally. Anyone want to wager on that?
