Bay Area poets, readers, activists, and the community at large are invited to the cantina at Ybor City’s Centuro Asturiano for an event inspired by artists Robert Lazzarin and Rodrigo Valenzuela, who’ve successfully questioned reality in their “Return of the Real” exhibit showing now at USF’s Contemporary Art Museum. “Poetry of Resistance,” an open mic and poetry reading, revolves around the idea of resistance, which there can never be enough of these days.

Fri. Oct. 25, 5:30 p.m-8 p.m. The Cantina at Centro Asturiano, 1913 N. Nebraska Ave., Ybor City. usfcam.usf.edu.
