Artist Caroline Karp paints some gorgeous scenes from across Tampa Bay, and her latest exhibit Reflections and Water – Views of Tampa Bay and Beyond opens at the Safety Harbor Museum next month. On Aug. 10, join her for wine and cheese and see more of her colorful acrylics — her paintings include views of Tampa Bay (as the name suggests), Davis Islands Yacht Club, Safety Harbor and Rainbow River.

Karp paints water, she says, in part because she walks along Safety Harbor's Bayshore Blvd. with her dog, Arya, daily.

“If you live by the water, your view changes thousands of times each day,” she says. “Most people think of blue when they think of the color of water. And that’s true — but water reflects many iterations of blue. And if the sky is pink, purple, orange, or grey, the water will show those colors, too,” she says.

Join Karp — no word on whether Arya will attend — to take in her view of Tampa Bay (and beyond, just like the show promises), sip wine and nibble cheese. Deets below.

Oh, and after the show, Karp will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her work to Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful.
