Ways to celebrate Juneteenth in Tampa Bay

Even if the Trump administration isn’t aware of emancipation, it’s still worth celebrating. Here are a few mostly no cover ways Tampa Bay is recognizing Juneteenth beyond next Thursday, June 19:

Saturday, June 14

• Juneteenth Cultural Celebration: Tampa Museum of Art’s fourth annual Freedom Day celebration is family friendly including art-making activities, live music, performances, a photo booth, gallery discussions and local vendors. 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. No cover. Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa
• Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom: New Outlook Events hosts this indoor, family-friendly celebration including live music, spoken word, and dance team performances. Noon-4 p.m. No cover. Donald Bronson Community Center, Polk City

• Juneteenth, Pride, Freedom: Dr. David Ponton, associate professor at University of South Florida’s School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies, gives a presentation on Black love and freedom in the intersection of Juneteenth and LGBTQ Pride. 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Mann-Wagon Memorial Park, Tampa. Monday, June 16

Thursday, June 19
