Chelsea Zukowski

Freelance contributor Chelsea Zukowski is a Tampa Bay native who started her journalism career in 2014 at the Tampa Bay Times, working her way up from editorial assistant to entertainment reporter and copy editor. After four years in print, she moved on to broadcast as a digital producer with 10 Tampa Bay-WTSP, the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg. Through December 2020, she covered theme parks, politics, local news and history and fell in love with covering the space industry.

She’s now a freelance writer covering all her favorite beats: space, history, and entertainment. Chelsea is also a contributing editor for the "Saber and Scroll" historical journal at American Public University, where she earned a master’s degree in history. She also really loves "Star Wars" and writes about it almost daily for Dork Side of the Force. When she’s not writing, she’s probably reading (three ebooks and two physical copies, usually), rewatching a "Star Wars" movie for the thousandth time, or buying more house plants. She’s been writing for Creative Loafing since 2021.
