The law requires conducting surveys on Florida college and university campuses about ‘intellectual freedom and viewpoint diversity.’

And while the governor’s race draws most of the attention, Republicans also have built large financial cushions for the three state Cabinet races on next year’s ballot.

It was not clear Friday morning how quickly the appeals court will decide whether to reinstate the stay or when it will consider the underlying issues in the lawsuit.

Speculation has swirled recently about the possibility of Trump making a political comeback in 2024 and what that might mean for DeSantis and other potential Republican candidates.

As is common, the notice of appeal did not outline arguments that the DeSantis administration will make at the Tallahassee-based appeals court.

The two programs that will expire Monday offer up to $275 a week to people ineligible for state unemployment compensation.

The lawsuit alleges that the state violated public-records laws at a time when the delta variant of the coronavirus has caused cases, hospitalizations and deaths to surge.

The lawsuit argues children with disabilities are more susceptible to serious illness or death from COVID-19.

The ban (SB 1028), passed by lawmakers in April and signed by DeSantis, was one of the most-controversial issues of this year’s legislative session

The law prevents the sale of rifles, shotguns and other long guns to people ages 18 to 20.

The lawsuit centers on an executive order that DeSantis issued preventing school districts from requiring that students wear masks.
