El Cap (St. Pete)
Foodies tend to prize innovation and daring (sometimes to the point of foolishness) in a burger. What heady combination of meat(s), exotic cheeses, specialty buns and toppings can a restaurant conjure up? El Cap, on the other hand, values the basics: never-frozen slabs of beef expertly cooked on a grill and, y’know, served inside a bun. Extras (cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickles, et al) cost a little bit more—e.g. grilled onions will set you back an extra 40 cents. We strongly suggest you do it up right with the Daily Double. El Cap is set amid a slew of fast-food joints on a busy section of 4th Street in St. Pete. It offers generous indoor and outdoor seating. When you eat an El Cap burger, you’re tasting not just hearty food, but decades of history. Find El Cap Restaurant on Facebook
