People say cats are passive-aggressive. Not true: I have two aggressive-aggressive cats who can also be haughty because, well, cats. Add to the mix a neurotic coonhound and a dachshund given to theatrics and you’ve got yourself a par-tay. What you don’t easily find? A vet who can treat and coddle them all. Nicole Tisdale at St. Pete Beach Veterinarian has healed Scuppers’ broken kitty toes, managed Calypso’s IVDD, and cured Banyan’s emotional tummy, and her partner, Dr. Rose, fixed Elmo after he lost his pride (and part of his cheek) in a catfight. I would cross three drawbridges to bring our pets there. 6605 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach, 727-367-0096, stpetebeachvetclinic.com. —Cathy Salustri
