A trio of local beverage "architects" have joined forces to create Tampa Bay's latest barrel-aged brew: Swirling Chair Races.

Clearwater's Pair O' Dice Brewing Company, Overflow Brewing Company in downtown St. Pete and Dunedin's Cotherman Distilling Co. are behind the dreamy-sounding collaboration beer.

To pull it off, they aged an English barley wine from Overflow in a 25-month Cotherman reserve whiskey barrel, which was selected by Pair O' Dice head brewer Ken Rosenthal last year.

Beer lovers can head for Pair O' Dice at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, to start downing pours of Swirling Chair Races. Usually, the tasting room fills 32-ounce growlers with any draft on a CO2 tap, but the new collab isn't eligible for the offer because limited quantities are available.
