Despite a short week, there was no shortage of food news. We welcome a second Spaddy’s Coffee location, said “see ya later” to Urban Canning Co. (explanation below) and touched base with a few other concepts opening just around the corner.

Openings

Spaddy’s Coffee Co. No need to fight over parking to get your sips from the trailer at the location in Seminole Heights, Spaddy’s joined forces with Raw Smoothies Co. to launch a second location in Tampa. Coming soon

Counter Culture Shouldn’t be long until four-time James Beard Award semifinalist chef Jeannie Pierola unveils her third concept, Counter Culture (she’s shooting for an early December opening). The joint will open serving strictly dinner options, and plans to introduce breakfast and lunch dishes after the restaurant finds its footing. 2909 W. Bay to Bay Blvd., Tampa. cc-tampa.com.

Hoots After over three decades of business, the founders of Hooters decided to launch Hoots which is, "a little bit Hooters, a little bit its own thing." While there won’t be any pantyhose, Hoots will serve favorites like wings (bone-in and boneless), chicken tenders, sandwiches, as well as buffalo shrimp and snow crab legs. Oh, and booze, too. Lingr on 6th st Celebrity chef Jeffrey Jew is set to cook up Nordic and Asian-inspired dishes with a contemporary flair at his forthcoming restaurant. Lingr, which hopes to be open by spring 2020, plans to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner while boasting an extensive wine selection. 400 6th St., St. Petersburg. Lingrrestaurant.com

Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar The Louisiana-based sports bar and restaurant franchise, which already has a Wesley Chapel location, plans on opening six more locations throughout Tampa Bay. Expect the first new location debut in 2020. 25372 Sierra Center Blvd., Wesley Chapel. walk-ons.com

Closings

Urban Canning Co. Due to rising rent, Urban Canning Co. was forced to vacate its brick-and-mortar. Although this is goodbye for now, the business plans to partner up with Brick Street Farms in early 2020.
