According to the American Pie Council, the up and coming month of April will be sweeter than ever as not one, but two major pie events are taking place early in the month.
The 2011 APR Crisco National Pie Championships are kicking off April 8 and continuing through April 10, 2011, at the Caribe Royale Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. This friendly competition is open to amateur, commercial and professional bakers alike, and even provides a high school category of he competition for those up and coming bakers of the future. According to the editor of The Food Channel online, the deadline to register for the competition is March 17, 2011.
