When Pro Kitchen Hub Tampa owner Kristin McKinney opened The Bakery Box Pop-Up space in 2019, the goal was for clients to use the space as an alternative to weekend markets and save the money spent on big storefronts for something else down the line. Some of Pro-Hub’s former clients include Empamamas—whose owner now has two storefronts in Tampa’s Armature Works—and Gulf Coast Sourdough which now has a sandwich storefront in South Seminole Heights.
Alysia and David Augustine—owners of Augustine’s Cheesecakes—joined the Pro Hub family in 2015, allowing them space to develop recipes. Before arriving at Pro Hub, the duo grew a following by selling its cheesecakes at weekend markets. Hard work paid off for the Augustines when they opened their storefront last weekend. That means fans no longer have to find a pop-up or make a special order to get some Augustine’s on the table.
“I’m a little nervous, yet excited, determined, and happy to be offering more availability to our customers,” Alysia told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay in a message. “I’d say it’s an extension of Pro Kitchen Hub Tampa.”
A few of the Augstine’s cheesecake flavors include almond crunch, chocolate, and the classic New York-style with strawberries.
Find Augustine’s Cheesecakes’ new storefront at 5224-A S Dale Mabry Hwy. every Friday from noon-7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Just FYI, cheesecakes will continue to be sold at the nearby Bakery Box Pop-Up, located at 5226 S Dale Mabry Hwy., every Thursday from noon-6 p.m. If you want to beat the line, order cheesecake online here.
