Downtown St. Pete is set to get a sneak peek of Bandit Coffee Co. this weekend.
Previewing its multiroaster goodness at 2662 Central Ave., the Grand Central District coffee shop will host The Minimalists — made up of authors and international speakers Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus — for three days of special events.
With a message that promotes leading rich lives with "less stuff," The Minimalists will show their upcoming film, Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things, at Bandit on Saturday. Though the screening is sold out, the shop will feature the twosome as guest baristas from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, and 7 to 11 a.m. Monday. The public is welcome to attend, and their tips will benefit orphan care.
Until the grand opening, which will be announced in early spring, the Bandit crew plans to keep adding to their exterior, interior and "backspace," where co-work and studio areas are available for rent. Co-owner Sarah Weaver says creative studios, photographers, videographers and freelancers have already shown interest in the specialty coffeehouse's desk rentals, meeting room and photo studio.
